This is an antique Colt 1860 Civilian Model Percussion Revolver. More than 200000 model 1860’s were produced from 1860 to 1873 with this one being made in 1872. Of those manufactured nearly 130000 went to the U.S. government for use in the American Civil War. This has a 8” round barrel with the barrel address reading -ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U S AMERICA-. It has a 6 shot round cylinder chambered in .44 percussion. The scroll engravings on the cylinder are sharp and nearly all visible. This revolver has a light amount of pitting on the right side of the frame along with some small handling dings found throughout. This is a very good condition antique. The grips are in fine condition with a few light marks at the bottom. Matching serial numbers found on the barrel, frame, cylinder, cylinder arbor, trigger guard and grip strap, the wedge is numbered to another gun. Mechanically in excellent condition with perfect timing, lockup and strong springs. The 1860 is an iconic percussion revolver that was carried by Clint Eastwood in The Outlaw Josey Wales. No Colt collection would be complete without a model 1860 for a centre piece.
